Hi all,

as its the festive time of year...

Do you buy a present for/from your kids (mine are only 6 and 3 so don't have money of their own) for them to give to their mum?

Yes, I do.

But it is always chosen by the kid. I think of it as a duty to the child. They learn to give as well as receive. I try to always acknowledge and respect how important the other parent will naturally be to the child. Leave the nastiness to the other side.

I used to when my son was younger and she did the same. That all stopped after I went to court - and my son was a bit older - there wouldn't have been any point as she'd have binned it and he'd have had a hard time.

But it's a good thing to do to keep things smooth. Also a good idea to let the child choose it. My son used to pick things like snow globes lol.
