Types of Court Orders 2021-06-20

No permission to download
Since 2014 there are no Contact and Residence Orders - these have been replaced with Child Arrangements Orders.

What used to be "Residence" is now called "Lives with"
What used to "Access" or "Contact" is now called "Spends Time with"
What used to be "Joint Residence" or "Shared Residence" is now called "Lives with both Parents" and/or "Shared Care"

Lives with both parents/shared care can be 50/50 or less - usually the minimum is 4 nights a fortnight and half the holidays. The only difference with a lives with both order as opposed to a "spends time with" order is:

1) It takes away sole residence from the other parent - so curbs their megalomania (if that is the case!)
2) Pscyhologically parents are viewed as equally important by official authorities such as Local Education, Social workers, Court etc (sometimes!)
3) Either parent can go abroad for up to a month without needing permission from the other one. Providing it still follows court ordered arrangements.

See the Childrens Act links for other orders available. Click on tab above right saying "Go to download"
